i bought a tiffin carrier a coupla days ago. a cute stainless steel one that stacks on two levels.
so last night i packed some food in it for work today. this morning, i heated the thing in the microwave and burnt my fingers trying to take it out and pack it up.
this afternoon, my thoughts kept straying to myanmar, and images of little children bringing tiffins to school. because they cannot afford to eat at the school canteen. and because their school is so far away, they need to take the bus for hours and hours and won’t be home again until dinner, so all the food they have for the day is in the steel carriers.
then on some superficial level, my thoughts go to india. they have this tiffin lunch pick up and delivery thing there. no, never been to india – saw it on some documentary.
strange how so simple a symbol can bring a world of memories. i must stop day dreaming at work, huh.
