i shared peanuts under a tree earlier this week with a minangkabau lady with ten children.

the eldest two of whom are jobless. four more daughters are waiting at home to be ‘married off’. only two out of the whole gang has a college education and only one of them is currently earning.

a kid runs by.

she looks at her and frowns. she *thinks* that is number seven…
